The President Calls Families of Attacked Military Members to White House

Former President Donald Trump announced on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the White House.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their honor.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s proposed a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president informed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Community members assembled over the weekend at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid policing efforts in DC.

Remembering the Soldier

“She was the individual that educators wished for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of her former high school, stated to the media. “She was caring, compassionate and always eager to assist people.”

Service details for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Authorities have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event caused the administration to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop issuing visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi stated on a news show that she also intended to speak to the family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with honor, per the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
