That Grisly Cartoon Movie Conclusion That Haunts Viewers

Out of every mature animated films I have personally viewed, nothing has remained with me quite like the dread-soaked conclusion of a graphically gory and highly provocative 2022 movie The Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, this Spanish writer-director crafted a grim, somber , often savage world with several minor , desolate glimmers of hope.

Although Unicorn Wars feels like it came from a drive to expand animation further, the filmmaker explained that it was actually an effort to convey a widespread, multicultural theme regarding “the shared root of each battle.”

That message is conveyed through a group of vividly colored bears , obviously based on a popular series of cuddly figures.

Growing up in a culture focused on warmongering as well as the military-industrial complex, a lot of these creatures are fixated on slaughtering the mythical beasts, due to a religious scripture that tells them they used to be masters of the forest, until these creatures forced them out.

Others did not entirely accepted the indoctrination, and choose to experiment with drugs or engage sexually in the woods.

Unlike their cuddly counterparts, these colorful critters show sexual organs and obvious sex drives.

For one notably brutal, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the conflict against the unicorns becomes a road toward dominance — and specifically to dominance over his gentler, more compassionate sibling the character Tubby.

This bear is a bully , an obvious antisocial figure , and while fear takes over his group and takes his teammates one by one, he seizes more and more influence for himself, via progressively bloody, destructive ways.

Simultaneously, the horned creatures are enduring their own horror, through an expanding, deadly beast in their forest.

“At the beginning, it seems like a humorous movie,” the filmmaker stated. “But then it evolves into a more dramatic and melancholic movie. And by the end, it transforms into a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars commences feeling a bit like among the whimsical films by a legendary filmmaker, which find a wicked pleasure in allowing drawn beings swear, engage in violence, or have intimate relations.

Afterward it turns into closer to a darker work from that artist, including ever more graphic violence and a tangible connection to genuine tragedy of battle.

Ultimately, it is a full-on theatrical horror carnage.

The horror that makes this an ideal spooky-season movie starts well before than indicated.

Unicorn Wars is suited for the devoted gorehounds, for lovers of graphic films who desire to watch something they haven’t ever watched previously, and who can handle a plot that pulls unflinching brutality.

See it in a dimly lit space without any distractions, and the finale will dig into your mind and take up residence there.
