Democrats Criticize Trump After He States They Should Face Death Penalty

Democratic officials demonstrated fury after the ex-president alleged a group of Democratic representatives of being "betrayers" and declared they should be detained and penalized "by death" following their publication of a contentious video.

The Message That Triggered the Debate

The video footage, released on earlier this week, showcases six Democratic elected officials who formerly worked in military or defense positions.

"Similar to us, you all took an oath to safeguard and defend this founding document," the officials affirmed in the short video. "At present, the threats to our governing document don't only come from abroad, but from domestically. Our regulations are explicit, you can decline unlawful commands, you can reject unlawful commands, you have to refuse improper directives. No one has to execute commands that violate the statutes or our national charter."

Donald Trump's Furious Response

The video message reportedly provoke a furious response from the previous commander-in-chief.

On the following morning, Trump posted on Truth Social: "This represents SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these turncoats to our United States should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL."

In a separate publication, he declared: "This constitutes really bad, and Harmful to our United States. Their comments cannot be permitted to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???"

In a additional post, he added: "SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, liable by DEATH!" He also reposted a declaration that read: "HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD !!"

Party Representatives React

Following Trump's remarks on Thursday, House Democratic leader released a combined announcement condemning the comments.

"Political violence has no role in this nation," they declared. "Representatives who were featured in the video all worked our United States with great loyalty and distinction. We strongly denounce Donald Trump's appalling and risky threats of violence against elected officials, and call on GOP representatives to forcefully do the same."

The party representatives also mentioned that they had been in communication with security officials "to ensure the safety of these officials and their loved ones."

"Donald Trump must immediately delete these unhinged online messages and recant his dangerous discourse before he leads to violence," the statement stated.

Lawmakers' Defiant Response

The lawmakers who participated in the video also released a response.

"We identify as ex-military personnel and defense specialists who care for this nation and made an vow to defend and support the constitution of the United States," they stated. "That oath continues forever, and we aim to honor it. No warning, coercion, or promotion of aggression will prevent us from that important obligation."

"The significant point is that the ex-president views it punishable by execution for us to repeat the law," they added. "Military personnel should know that we have their protection as they carry out their vow to the constitution and responsibility to adhere to only proper directives. It is not only the proper thing to do, but also our responsibility."

They added: "The entire nation must unite and censure the former president's calls for our execution and political violence. This is a period for principled stance."

Further Governmental Comments

The Opposition leader also denounced Trump's remarks and published on digital platforms: "Let's be crystal clear: the ex-commander in chief is calling for the death of public representatives."

He continued: "This represents an clear THREAT. Each congressional member, all representatives, every American – regardless of party – should condemn this right away and absolutely."

The Republican House speaker supported Trump's assertion that the Democrats had participated in "sedition", characterizing the video as "highly unsuitable", stating: "This constitutes very risky, you have prominent officials of Congress advising military personnel to ignore directives, I think that represents historic in US history."

The Conservative representative also according to sources informed the press that in what he read of Trump's messages, Trump was "explaining the crime of rebellion" but that "lawyers have to analyze the terminology and determine all that."

White House Response

During a executive branch meeting on that day, when asked by a media member, "Is the president want to execute congressional representatives?", the executive branch representative replied: "No."

"We should understand about what the ex-commander in chief is responding to," the spokesperson said. "You have sitting members of the federal government who worked together to organize a digital communication to personnel of the national defense, to active duty service members encouraging them to defy the president's proper directives."

She stated: "The purity of our defense system depends on the chain of command, and if that chain of command is compromised, it can result in people getting killed, it can cause chaos, and that is exactly what these congressional representatives ... are basically encouraging."
